For the second year, São Paulo International Film festival promotes, in partnership with Mubi, the biggest platform of films on the internet, Mostra Online.
This year, beyond the regular exhibitions in the theaters, 64 films of the selection of the 34th Mostra will also have free screenings on the internet. This is a great chance for Mostra’s fans all over Brazil, including those who don’t live in São Paulo, to be part of the event. The exhibition of the movies was previously authorized by the producers – and all the foreign language films have subtitles.
Like in any other theater that take part in São Paulo International Film Festival, there is a limit of access for each film. In this edition, however, more people will have the opportunity to watch them. Last year, during the 33rd Mostra, 300 accesses were allowed for each movie. This year, the streaming access will be available for the first 500 spectators, all through the festival - after the last exhibition of the film at the programme of the 34th Mostra - at the website: http://mubi.com/festivals/sao-paulo
MUBI is the biggest online community of independent and classical films worldwide, with a collection of movies incorporated by the suggestion of moviegoers. Founded in 2007, it’s supported by Celluloid Dreams, one of the most relevant producers of independent films in the world; by the Criterion Collection, the biggest international brand of art DVDs; and by Costa Films, which operates in Latin America. Mubi is an exclusive partner of the World Cinema Foundation, focused on the preservation of films and headed by Martin Scorsese, and has offices in Palo Alto (EUA), New York, Paris and London.
