34th São Paulo Internacional Film Festival in São Paulo
From October 22nd to the 4th of November, São Paulo hosts the traditional São Paulo International Film Festival. For two weeks, more then 400 films from several countries will be exhibited at the 34th Mostra, in over 20 spaces among cinemas, museums and cultural centers around the capital city. The selection provides an overview of the world contemporary cinema production and of the tendencies, themes, narratives and aesthetics produced worldwide.
“The Strange Case of Angelica”, directed by Manoel de Oliveira and co-produced by Mostra, opens this year’s Festival on the 21st of October, at Auditório do Ibirapuera. Expositions of Wim Wenders’ photographs as well as Akira Kurosawa’s original storyboards are also highlights of this year’s programme.
